For those of you who have wondered how you would survive a night or more out in the brutal winter nights of the north country, this is a class for you! Winter Shelter is a vital class to have under your belt when it comes to wilderness survival.

Billowing snow layered deep upon the frozen earth, clear skies and stars twinkling like ice drops in the inky blackness; temperatures well below zero degrees and a brisk wind. You are lost or have been forced out of your home, perhaps you became stuck on a deserted stretch of road and now you must survive the frigid night. Winter Shelter

During this class you will be outdoors in true winter conditions in the mountains of northern Vermont. Here you will be shown different ways to build adequate shelter in which would keep you alive in the brutal winter nights out of doors. You will also be constructing your own winter shelters during this workshop.

The types of shelters taught will depend upon environmental conditions at the time of the workshop.

Make sure to come prepared to be outdoors in winter conditions of the Vermont Mountains. You will be emailed a complete equipment list upon registration.

THIS CLASS WILL BE ON SNOWSHOES.

Class will being at 9 am on Monday and run until about 4 pm. Local lodging is available and upon request details will be emailed to you.

Upon registration of the workshop you will also be emailed a supplies list of what to bring along. The total cost is $140.00. A deposit of $45.00 is required to reserve your space. Please visit our deposit page to make yours.

As the title implies, we will be on snowshoes so please do not forget yours. Local rentals are also available.
