A lot of stories were as “told by Hollywood”. The US state department only had about three incidents of “scalping” by aboriginals. They did have scalping cases that involved white Skinners who usually skinned buffalo, deer, etc, for the skin. In Canada, in the Marintimes, it was the whites again that scalped but it was the aboriginals that were dead. The scalps were brought back as proof that they had murdered the aboriginals (for the cleared land) and the price for the scalp was the same as that for the fox. I believe that they called them the Bethone. My grandfather said, that even in Wounded Knee, the so-called aboriginals, were mostly Portuguese, with a mixture of Spaniards, whites coere des bois, Italians and Jews. This probably explaines why the photos of the dead men at Wounded Knee were all dressed in dress suits. DNA of California aboriginals were Spanish/Jews. Vancouver aboriginals….Italians…rite? Bethunes…French, Scottish, English dna…300 years of intermarriage among families. Most aboriginals welcomed the new immigrants and in the book of The White Savage, one chief who feed the starving immigrants exclaimed, “I don’t have one relative left.” The immigrants murdered them all. Real estate was the MOST IMPORTANT goal for politicians and friends and it is true that they hired trackers from both sides, for a short while, before the aboriginals collectively choose to help one another.
There are extremists in all religions and in all nations and I have found one in each colonies including the UK

I truly appreciate this commentary as I was seeking a way to express my inner most feeling on the subject. When I speak of the desire to learn to survive independently to my New Age Spiritualist friends invariable they become dismayed and tell me that instead of me focusing on surviving I just need to focus on peace and that will energetically only bring that into my life. Since I do believe that myself, however I felt that just like being aggressive that attitude was too far the opposite direction…just thought of that today as a matter of fact. When I considered the current issues of today there was no way I could completely reconcile this passive attitude. It just feel short. The aggressors love passive people I thought. I had even read that the current enemies of the global human race even invented the New Age movement and have spread it far and wide and perhaps it was for this very reason. So while everyone is meditating and sending out their love light, your country, your future, your life is being taken out from under you. My intuition says if you learn skills to enable yourself to handle yourself in any circumstance then no one can manipulate you with fear. This is the way to be truly free. I am going to read about your Meechgalanne (hopefully there is information about him) and his teachings, He sounds very wise. Perhaps I can find the words to challenge the pacifiest and give them another way of looking at the survivalist ways.

Having worked with people who have fled war zones, spending years advocating for human rights, peace and justice, I discovered the truth of your teacher’s comment through my own brush with misfortune.

I was so focused on pacifism, I attracted a strong “opponent”.

I literally had to fight for my life and for the first time I realized how precious it was…how non-expendable…and how much I wanted to live. I discovered my ferocity.

There is a time for action. Knowing the right time and taking action with clarity, free of any need for revenge or domination is important. Discovering true warriorship is the middle way.
